After a hectic first half of 2024 I am back home for the Winter.
As most of you will know by now, the time I spend at home during the cool months has become very precious to me – and hopefully also very productive – but not always, and this time we will see how things progress.
For the past three years i have approached the Winter months with a very definite goal in mind. I use the time for exploring weaving techniques, developing new projects and study blocks for the Patreon page, and latterly, also for constructing an on-line course or two. this year, the plan is to give my long suffering website a face-lift. ( Do I hear cheers, and cries of ‘about time’ and what took you so long?’ from the peanut gallery)?
Well what took me so long is that I have the technological know-how of your average carrot, and this reconstruction is a daunting task for someone who will escape the desk and head for nearest loom at the drop of a hat! But….. the time has come the walrus said.
This doesn’t mean that the looms are taking second place though. We will soon be embarking on a study of Shadow Weave ( Log Cabin on steroids) with the harness weavers on the Patreon page. The Rigid Heddle weavers will be playing with pick-up sticks, and there is new on-line course bubbling away on the back burner – doubleweave on the Rigid Heddle Loom.
So, , apologies for the inconvenience of the website being down for such a while, I hope that you think that the result is worth it. I have tried to clear up some of the clutter, and to make things easier to navigate. Only time will tell if I have managed to achieve this.
Most importantly though, I am aiming to become far better acquainted with all things website, so that, when next I need to update, or add, or do a Spring clean, I will be better equipped to handle it – instead of just ignoring it and hoping it will go away.
So much to do and so little time to do it!
