This is how a year should begin – with excitement and anticipation of good things to come, so Happy 2025 to everyone!

Many of you will be familiar with my Rigid Heddle Consolidation Course which I published last year, with the promise of a follow-up course soon to be released. Well, sometimes the best of intentions simply don’t come to fruition as planned and 2024 sped by at such a rate that I just couldn’t keep up, so the new course went on the back burner.

Now, at the start of 2025, I am delighted to be able to tell you that my decadently gorgeous new on-line course “Waffling about Colour” will launch on Wednesday 19th February!

“Waffling about Colour” gets to grips with two of the statements I hear most frequently in teaching: “I have no confidence working with colour”, and “I would like to weave Waffle Weave towels”.

What we have here then is a colour ‘Gamp’ woven in plain weave, and then the same colour gamp woven in Waffle Weave. A ‘gamp’ for those of you who aren’t sure of the terminology, is simply a weaving term which means ‘study’.

I offer two methods for weaving the popular waffle weave, and a warp length which is long enough to try them both out and decide which one you prefer.

Dana Biddle from Colourspun (www.colourspun.com) will be offering kits again, and there will be early bird specials in the weeks leading up to the launch.

I’m really very proud of this project. The colours are glorious, and the addition of texture adds a whole new dimension to the behaviour of these wonderful colours. The project is fun to weave as you watch the colours blending and interacting with each other – I found that I kept on pushing – just so that I could get to the next block to see what it would look like!

There is well over and hour of video instruction, a download and print workbook which includes the pattern, and loads of tips and tricks to help you along the way.

Keep an eye out over the next few weeks for more news and info on “Waffling About Colour” and remember that the good things are always worth the wait!
